Sony's Kaz Hirai has announced a few cool things at TGS07. First up, the long awaited Dual Shock 3 controller for Playstation 3 with rumble! Sony took a lot of flak regarding the lack of rumble in the new PS3 controller but now it's back. Metal Gear Solid 4 will support the new rumbling Dual Shock with existing games updateable via the Playstation Network.
Personally, I hate rumbling controllers. It always seems to jolt me out of my little gaming world whenever the controller vibrates in my hand. I usually turn the option off in the game menu.
Also, Kaz gave some info on the future of Remote Play for PSP and PS3 interaction. PSP will be able to turn your PS3 on and off via the Internet. This is good new as it means you won't have to leave your PS3 on all the time if you want to access your PS3 when you're away from home!

PSP 2000 Hands On
As well as shaving off a few millimetres and grams, this new revision boasts more flash memory for faster load times, and TV out via component cables.
It's definitely lighter and slimmer (you'd have to look closely to tell the size difference though) but it feels much tackier and cheaper.
The original PSP has a solid, "serious bit of kit" feel about it. This new one feels like it came out of one of those surprize egg machines you see outside of chip-shops.
Not sure the meagre benefits justify a purchase but I might fall foul to impulse buying...again...
New Blog
Well...first it was Facebook, now I've got a blog too!
Whatever next, listening to The Kooks or somesuch I shouldn't wonder.
Anyway, today Apple announced the UK deets for the iphone. Kinda dissapointing really. £269 for the 8Gb version. Unlimited data plans from £35 and...here's the kicker....NO 3G!!! Say wha? Yep, EDGE only. That's 2.5G which is just over GPRS data speeds and only 30% coverage.
Yes..30%...most carriers moved onto, y'know, 3G!
So, your looking at an overpriced, crippled style toy rather than the revolutionary communication device promised. Can't help thinking you'd be much better off with an unlocked Nokia N95 off of Ebay.
